Working Mom Makes Diet Work for Her, Not Other Way Around

Amy Perrone is like a lot of moms out there. She's busy. She's raising four kids and holding down a full-time job. She doesn't always have time to figure out what's for dinner, or lunch, or breakfast. Time is of the essence, and she needs a way to integrate meal-planning with her weight-loss goals. Essentially, Amy needs a service that works with her schedule, not against it. That's why she's turned to the Cooking Light Diet.
"I don't always eat dinner at dinner. It really all depends on time. Sometimes I do dinner at lunch and flip it around. Also, I base my eating schedule on ingredients I have in the house and how much time I have to eat and how much time I have to prepare. All that comes into play, and this [Cooking Light Diet] is a no-brainer because you can tailor it to meet your needs. The simplicity, the ease of just being able to follow it-everybody should be doing it, in my opinion."
In addition to making life easier from a time-management standpoint, Amy says the Cooking Light Diet has really opened her eyes with regards to making healthier food choices.
"One of the things we love to do as a family is watch sports together," Amy told me. "We're big Yankees fans, we're big NFL fans. And what do you do when you get in front of the TV? You eat," she laughs. "But the 35 pounds I lost* at the beginning came off very quickly I think, because I was taking in a more realistic amount of calories my body needed and not eating the bag of chips and all the other crap we had watching games. And I love that the Diet incorporates snacks. So when we're watching the Yankees, I don't feel like I'm just sitting there having nothing. I go online and click to see what my snack for the day is, so when the family is having the popcorn and stuff with all the butter, I have my healthy snack."
It's this newfound awareness of what she's putting in her body that has convinced Amy to continue using the Cooking Light Diet as a maintenance tool long after reaching her weight-loss goals. Because Amy says, unlike other diet products and services, this one has true staying power.
"The importance is to look at this as more of a lifestyle change as opposed to just, 'Okay, I'm going to be on a diet for six months and then go back to my old way of eating.' This is absolutely something I will continue to follow. I think of it as a teaching tool, because once you've changed that mindset, you know, you're not eating carrot sticks and celery. I'll be honest, there aren't even a ton of salads on this diet. It's real food. You can have sandwiches. You can have a grilled cheese. It's different things, but it's a tool to teach you a better way of doing it."
