Dolly Parton Is Going to Read Bedtime Stories to Children in New Weekly Video Series
Dolly to the rescue!
If anyone can get America’s kids through this difficult time, it’s Dolly Parton.
Yesterday, Parton announced “Goodnight with Dolly,” a 10-week special series of weekly videos featuring everyone’s favorite Book Lady reading select Imagination Library books presented by Dollywood, Abramorama, and The Dollywood Foundation. Look out, Josh Gad!
The country music icon hopes these bedtime stories will not only provide a welcome distraction amid the coronavirus crisis but inspire a love of reading and books in the hearts of children as well.
“This is something I have been wanting to do for quite a while, but the timing never felt quite right,” Parton said in a news release. “I think it is pretty clear that now is the time to share a story and to share some love. It is an honor for me to share the incredible talent of these authors and illustrators. They make us smile, they make us laugh, and they make us think.”
The weekly read-aloud series features several of the Imagination Library’s books including The Little Engine That Could, There's a Hole in the Log on the Bottom of the Lake, Llama Llama Red Pajama, I Am a Rainbow by Parton herself, and many more classics.
“Goodnight with Dolly” launches on April 2, 2020.
