A bowl of creamy pea pasta is colorful—and bright in flavor as well, thanks to the addition of lemon zest and juice. Made in just one pot, this easy pasta recipe is perfect for busy weeknights.

  • Combine pasta and water in a large saucepan (some of the pasta will not be submerged). Bring to a boil over high heat. Boil, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente, about 8 minutes, stirring in peas during the final minute of cook time.

  • Reduce heat to medium-low. Add Parmesan, cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, crushed red pepper (if using) and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until the cheese is melted but the sauce still looks loose, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

  • Let the pasta mixture cool, stirring occasionally, for about 3 minutes (the sauce will thicken and coat the pasta). Stir in mint and dill. Divide among 4 bowls and garnish with additional mint and dill, if desired.
