This quick and easy shot packs a punch to wake the senses. Apple and honey make it naturally sweet and are balanced by lemon juice and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper that brings on the heat.
Process lemons, apple, ginger and 1/2 cup apple juice in a blender on high speed until completely smooth, about 2 minutes.
Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a clean jar or container; discard solids. Stir in honey, cayenne, salt and the remaining 1/4 cup apple juice. Top each serving with a sprinkle of cayenne, if desired.
To make ahead: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
