Great Idea Dish I thought this was a great recipe. However since I'm trying to cut as many calories as possible I reduced the oil to 1 tsp reduced the chicken broth to 1/4 cup and left out the flour all together. Pros: Easy Cons: Too Many Calories for Dish
Excellant Weeknight Dinner I did follow other users' suggestions and doubled the lemon juice. I also used dried dill so 2 teaspoons rather than the 2 tablespoons of fresh just because I didn't have any fresh. I also used a little white wine after the garlic and onion and softened and before I added the broth-dill-lemon-flour mixture. We thought it was great. Is definitely going into the regular rotation. Pros: Flavorful and fast Cons: none
Delicious I absolutely loved this dish however I did make some modifications after reading the previous reviews. The simplest way to explain what I did I to say that I doubled everything except the amount of chicken chicken broth and oil. Also I do not measure anything but I have a very good eye. Pros: very fresh tasting Cons: none
Probably won't make again I love lemon and dill and was really excited for this recipe but I found that the recipe called for so much garlic that it over powered the sauce. The onion and garlic make sense together and the lemon and dill together but all together it the taste was off. I didn't enjoy it and probably won't make again. Pros: Simple to put together.
I used skinless chicken thighs and marinated them in garlic lemon juice olive oil and salt and pepper for about an hour. I caramelized the onions to add depth to the flavors of the dish. I also added about 3 tablespoons of dill and covered the chicken while it simmered. Such a beautifully simple dish. I served the chicken with a fennel cucumber and caper salad. Perfect for those hot Australian summer nights.
