10 Best Holiday Gifts for Pets, Because They're Part of Your Quaran-team Too
This is Obsessed: my weekly column devoted to sharing all the things I'm loving right now—from unique food and gift ideas to travel destinations and beauty products—plus some tips and tricks for living your best life.
For the past eight months, I've been lucky enough to be able to work from home. While I miss my coworkers and wearing something besides pajamas every day, working at home has provided an unexpected benefit: Spending way more quality time with my dog, Grits. He's been a constant companion while I've been home, and I truly don't know what I would have done without our daily walks and cuddles to keep me (somewhat) sane.
To reward him for being a good boy this year, I'm loading up his stocking (yes, he has his own monogrammed stocking) with treats, tennis balls and toys. And to help you spoil your fur baby this howl-iday season, I've rounded up the best pet gifts of 2020. Happy shopping!
Holiday Gift Ideas for Pets
A Customized Stocking
Whether you have a dog or cat, these personalized paw-shaped stockings are a must-have holiday gift. Load them up with your pet's favorite treats and toys for a surprise they'll absolutely love. Warning: If you're anything like me, you'll definitely let them open theirs before the holidays.
A Cozy Cat Perch
If your kitty loves to bask in the sun or watch birds outside, this sturdy sleeper is perfect. It holds up to 100 pounds, so even the chunkiest cat can snooze safely. Bonus: The bed cover comes off and is machine washable for easy cleaning.
Doggie Blanket and Toy Set
This adorable stocking stuffer comes with a bone-shaped toy and a blanket that says "Eat. Sleep. Treat. Repeat." I love that the blanket is lightweight, portable and machine washable—perfect for future car rides with your pup!
Your cat will go nuts for these catnip-filled Christmas stockings. The toys come in packs of three, so you can keep the fun going for Mittens all holiday season long.
How cute are these treats?! With varieties like Gingerbread, Holiday Cobbler and Hanukkah Gelt, your pup will get to feel like they're part of all of the family's holiday fun. These treats are vegan, gluten-free and are packed with human-grade ingredients, so you can rest assured that Fido is getting the very best. (Side note: My dog Grits is a strict meat treat lover, but he devoured the Gingerbread flavor!)
Grits is also a big fan of Whimzees dental chews—and I love that they clean his teeth and keep him busy. They're making an adorable holiday pack with tree- and snowman-shaped chews, and you can snag them on Prime. Score!
This kitty condo that will provide all of the stimulation your active cat needs, without totally throwing off your decor. It's 47.5 inches tall and comes with five sisal-wrapped scratching posts, two scratching mats and different levels and perches for your cat to climb on.
A Holiday Fetch Set
This adorable holiday fetch set comes with a ball and frisbee and is available in three designs: Santa ($14.99 on Amazon), Reindeer ($14.99 on Amazon) or a Snowman ($11.05 on Amazon). No matter which one you choose, your dog will love playing fetch and dashing through the snow! (See what I did there?)
You know we couldn't put together a gift guide without including some food-themed gifts! I squealed when I saw these adorable options. Let your pup enjoy cocktail hour with this "White Paw" seltzer variety pack (Buy it: $49 for three toys, Posh Puppy) or brunch with a five-piece "Barking Brunch" collection that includes a Bloody Mary, avocado toast and more (Buy it: $62 for five-piece set, Posh Puppy). And, if your cat wants to get in on sushi night, how about giving them some this fun little catnip-filled set that includes sashimi, wasabi and more? (Buy it: $6.48 on Chewy.com)
A Cozy Cat Bed
Pamper your cat with a handmade bed they'll love to snuggle in. Since it's made from 100% wool felt, it'll keep Fluffy warm and cozy all winter long. Choose from different sizes and 100 various felt colors to perfectly suit your kitty (and your space).
