This is Obsessed: my weekly column devoted to sharing all the things I'm loving right now—from unique food and gift ideas to travel destinations and beauty products—plus some tips and tricks for living your best life.

I may be an EatingWell editor, but I'm still a human trying to navigate life during a pandemic. I'll just say this: Unlike Rebel Wilson, this has not been my "year of health." Working from home has made me a lot more sedentary, and mindless snacking has become pretty much the norm. While I'm trying not to beat myself up over a few extra pounds on the scale, I don't feel great, so I want to incorporate some small and attainable changes to get back into a healthy routine. Here are three things I'm buying to help set me up for success in 2021.

What I'm Buying to Get Healthier in the New Year

Meal-Prep Containers

Pre-pandemic, I packed my lunch almost every day. That's definitely not the case now. Most of the time, I end up eating leftovers from the day before or grazing on random things throughout the day. I want to get better about prepping a few veggie-heavy meals to eat during the week so I can get the nutrients and energy I need (plus, I just feel better when I eat lots of produce!). Our meal-prep editor, Victoria Seaver, M.S., RD, swears by these glass containers because you can see everything inside. Plus, they're microwave-, freezer- and dishwasher-safe for easy prep and cleanup.

A Sunrise Alarm Clock

After work, I'm so tired that all I want to do is make dinner and curl up on the couch. So, if I'm going to complete a workout, it has to be in the morning. However, one of the biggest things that stands in my way is snoozing the alarm on my phone—especially when it's cold and dark outside and all I want to do is stay in my cozy bed. The light on this alarm clock mimics the sunrise and gradually increases until your desired wakeup time. Plus, you can choose soothing sounds like birds chirping or waves, which sounds like a much more peaceful way to wake up in the morning. Bonus: It has over 8,000 5-star reviews on Amazon, and is a fraction of the cost of other models on the market.

A Smart Water Bottle

I am perpetually dehydrated. I know I sound like the worst EatingWell editor ever, but I'm just not a huge fan of drinking water. I forget to drink water throughout the day and then wonder why I'm lethargic, dizzy or have a pounding headache by 3 p.m. I fully understand that drinking water is necessary for our bodies to function at their best, so I want to be better about staying hydrated in the new year. This water bottle literally tracks your water intake and glows when it's time to drink again—AKA it's the babysitter I need to reach my daily hydration goals.
