But instead of your usual snack choice, you should try and reach for foods that will keep you energized and full until your next meal. That's why Justin's new Almond Butter Protein Bars are the perfect option for busy afternoons. Is It Healthier to Eat Salty or Sweet Snacks? Here's What a Dietitian Says The new refrigerated protein bars come in three flavors, including Almond Butter, Honey Almond Butter and Dark Chocolate Chip Almond Butter. Each bar comes with a whopping 10 grams of protein, thanks to ingredients like almonds and pea protein (for reference, an egg has about 6 grams of protein). The plant-based bars are also gluten-, soy- and dairy-free. And if you're partial to sweet snacks, the Almond Butter flavor includes organic maple syrup while the Dark Chocolate Chip and Honey Almond Butter flavors include organic honey for subtle sweetness. In addition to the protein, a one bar serving of the Almond Butter flavor has 17 grams of fat (4.5 of which is saturated fat), 120 milligrams of sodium, 8 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber and 7 grams of sugar (all of which is added). These protein bars would be a great, filling snack the next time an afternoon craving strikes. You can find these bars at Target or Whole Foods in the refrigerated section for $2.29 each.
