SodaStream Just Launched Kombucha Concentrates, So Now You Can Brew Your Own Booch in Seconds
While picking up a bottle of flavored kombucha at the grocery store is convenient, there’s something really cool about making your own kombucha at home. But to do so, you’ll need to obtain a SCOBY (which is a probiotic-rich starter made from bacteria and yeast), and the brewing process can be somewhat time-consuming. That’s why we were so excited to see that SodaStream is launching a kombucha concentrate to help consumers make their own kombucha at home in just seconds.
Essentially, you just carbonate your water using your SodaStream machine ($80, Amazon) and add a Soda Press Co. kombucha concentrate. The concentrates come in two flavors: Original, which has sharp flavors with delicate notes of apple and peach, and Passionfruit & Mandarin.
According to SodaStream’s website, the concentrates are brewed in small batches for over 45 days and have over a billion live probiotics per serving. They’re gluten-free, certified organic and have no artificial ingredients or Stevia added. Each 8-ounce prepared serving also has only 5 calories per serving and less than 1 gram of sugar.
But perhaps what we love the most is that, by brewing your own kombucha at home, you’re able to use fewer single-use containers. With each bottle of kombucha concentrate, you’re able to make 10 drinks (and the bottles are 100% recyclable).
