Drew Barrymore Is Hosting a Virtual Taco Night to Benefit No Kid Hungry

The actress is partnering with McCormick & Company to raise money for No Kid Hungry.

We love a good taco Tuesday as much as the next person, and this taco Tuesday is turning out to be even more special. Actress Drew Barrymore is hosting a virtual taco party tonight with McCormick & Company where they will make a $1 million dollar donation to No Kid Hungry.

No Kid Hungry is a national campaign working to feed children affected by childhood hunger. They estimate that 22 million children rely on free or reduced-price lunches at school every day. And now that schools are closed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, No Kid Hungry says that 25% of children could face hunger this year.

This generous donation will help No Kid Hungry continue their efforts to provide food to children in need. In honor of their donation, Drew Barrymore, who is an ambassador for the brand, will host a virtual taco night on May 19th from 6:30-7 p.m. EST. You can follow along on her Instagram page.

"I am so honored to be a part of this," said Drew Barrymore in a media release. "It is one of the most meaningful moments I have been lucky enough to be a part of. I am thankful to McCormick for including me in this abundant generosity."

While Barrymore will be taking taco suggestions in the comments, one tool she says she absolutely needs is her tortilla warmer. In an Instagram video, Barrymore says it keeps her tortillas "so soft and malleable," and is the key to a successful taco. (We found a similar taco warmer to Barrymore's from Sur La Table for only $10).

So cook alongside Drew Barrymore tonight for a fun, virtual event. For taco inspiration, try some of our favorite taco recipes like our Grilled Blackened Shrimp Tacos or BBQ Chicken Tacos with Red Cabbage Slaw. And don't forget to whip up a batch of delicious margaritas!
