8 Things You Can Buy at Costco Without a Membership
It's safe to say our staff has some pretty mixed feelings about Costco, but none of us can deny that the big-box store offers some amazing deals on our favorite cooking, cleaning and everyday staples.
We've rounded up the best buys (some are even free!) that you can find at Costco without paying the $60 annual membership fee. Some of these items cost slightly more if you buy them without a membership—you'll pay up to an extra 5%, according to TheKrazyKouponLady.com, a popular budget blog. The good news is that you can qualify for free two-day delivery if you spend $75 or more.
Kirkland Signature Snacks
Whether you like to snack on protein bars, nuts or dried fruit, you can find them all at Costco.com for a low price. The site offers both Kirkland Signature and name-brand products for all your between-meal needs. Some of our favorite online Costco finds include Kirkland Signature dried mango slices, dried apricots, marcona almonds and nut bars.
Prescription Drugs
You'll have to go into your local Costco for this one, but depending on your state laws, some Costco pharmacies are open to the public. You can even join Costco's free prescription program that is a benefit for members. All you have to do is bring a pharmacist a prescription slip from your doctor to get started. Just be sure to call your local Costco first before going to get a prescription filled.
Booze
You can't order booze online at Costco, but depending on your state, you can enjoy all the Kirkland Signature wine your heart desires without a membership. This is because retailers issued a public license to sell alcohol legally must sell to the public.
Those living in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Texas and Vermont can all enjoy Costco's best booze without paying a membership fee. Be sure to keep an eye out for their wildly popular vodka pops this spring!
Cooking Staples
Cooking staples, like olive oil, nut butters and whole grains are some of Costco's best-loved products, and they are available for purchase online! You can even find unique specialty items such as jasmine rice and hemp hearts at great prices. We love stocking up on otherwise-pricey staples like organic quinoa and extra-virgin olive oil at Costco, and you can get them delivered to your door in just two days.
Health Screenings
Costco offers free health screenings for a variety of conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure and more to the public. Check online for Costco's Healthcare Clinics schedule to see when a health screening is available in your area.
Paper and Cleaning Products
Costco is a great place to stock up on kitchen essentials for cooking, cleaning and entertaining. You'll find amazing deals on paper towels, trash bags, laundry detergent and so much more online—and these items will arrive at your door in the same amount of time as Amazon Prime.
Condiments and Spices
Costco is famous for its budget-friendly (yet high-quality) condiments and spices, and many of them are available for purchase online. Pink Himalyan salt, balsamic vinegar, raw honey and ground turmeric are just some of the high-quality offerings you'll find online for low prices. Just make sure you buy in bulk where it makes sense—that 18-ounce bottle of dried herbs will start to lose its potency after a year.
Sparkling Water
Do you love sparkling water as much as we do? Then you should consider buying it in bulk from Costco.com. You'll save about $5 on Perrier by shopping at Costco instead of Target—and even more on LaCroix.
