Trader Joe's Almond Nog Is Our New Favorite Holiday Treat
Trader Joe's Almond Nog is back for the holiday season, and it's much lighter than the traditional version.
Trader Joe's has transformed from a pumpkin spice paradise to a winter wonderland seemingly overnight, and we are so excited to have all of our favorite peppermint-, toffee- and gingerbread-flavored products back in our kitchens. While we love the Candy Cane Joe-Joe's and ready-to-bake cinnamon roll wreaths, there is one holiday treat that we can feel good about enjoying anytime this holiday season—Trader Joe's Almond Nog.
While this sounds a little less exciting than some of the other packaged cookies and candies hitting store shelves right now, this almond milk-based "eggnog" really is a sweet, creamy and festive delight. It tastes just like the real thing, but a whole lot healthier.
Trader Joe's traditional eggnog has 180 calories, 5 grams of saturated fat and 20 grams of sugar per serving, while the Almond Nog has just 50 calories, 0 grams of saturated fat and 8 grams of sugar. Plus, the almond nog is a good source of calcium and an excellent source of vitamin E and B12.
While plenty delicious on its own, this almond nog would make a wonderful festive coffee creamer or base for your morning latte as well as a replacement for milk in your favorite pancake, waffle or french toast recipes. We also recommend trying it in our Eggnog Ice Cream and Eggnog Pie recipes!
