What Are Stasher Bags?

Stasher bags are reusable storage bags made from durable and safe silicone that were created to reduce single-use plastic, namely those plastic sandwich bags that seem convenient but are SO wasteful and not even that good at their job. Stasher bags not only do a better job of keeping your food secure and super fresh—the tight seal prevents any leakage from happening and keep things like crackers fresh and crunchy for much longer—they're also safe to use in the microwave and oven and take the place of the plastic bag needed for sous-vide cooking. The dense silicone and tight seal on these Stasher bags also mean less freezer burn, so that big batch of cookies you made, or all the blueberries you picked, will taste just as good when you go to defrost them.

After you're done using one, pop it in the dishwasher and it'll come out clean and like brand-new. Honestly, it's like they're indestructible—the first Stasher bag I ever bought is still in perfect shape after years of heavy use.

The Different Sizes

Stasher bags offer more than just the standard sandwich-size bag—they have five sizes total. The smaller snack and pocket sizes are great for toting things around daily in your lunch box or a purse. The larger sandwich-size stand-up bag expands to hold more and stand on its own, which makes pouring things into the bag easier. The largest—the half-gallon size—is ideal for holding whole heads of lettuce, bunches of fresh herbs and any other large fruit or veggie that otherwise would go limp in the fridge without being wrapped in a plastic bag. If you're a meal-prepper like me, you'll love having all the different sizes to store what you prep ahead—and you'll be surprised how much even just the sandwich-size bag can fit.

All the Gorgeous Colors

Stasher offers bags in 17 or so different colors and comes out with new color line about every year. The newest collection—the Mojave line—may be my favorite color scheme yet. I love the beautiful earthy colors of this collection (pictured at the top of this article). Simply put, these colorful bags make me happy, which gives me even more of a reason to use them every day over single-use plastic bags.
