Pickle- and Kale-Flavored Candy Canes Exist—Here's Where to Find Them
One of our favorite things about the holiday season is the return of festive and nostalgic foods and drinks, like Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks in the fall and Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's in the winter. But over the last few years, we've seen a rise in odd novelty products that don't exactly seem all that appetizing (we're looking at you, Pumpkin Spice Spam) but are seriously intriguing nonetheless. And one of the most talked about holiday food novelties is back for another season—Pickle Candy Canes.
We're not sure if Archie McPhee, a producer of unique toys and other oddities, knew just how popular their wildly flavored candy canes would be after debuting Pickle Candy Canes last holiday season, but the unorthodox holiday candy is back for another year after going viral in 2018. This time it's accompanied by three new flavors—ham, pizza and, yep, even a kale-flavored candy cane!
These pickle-flavored candy canes are swirled green and white and made with a dill pickle flavoring to add a briny spin on this Christmas classic. While they sound super strange, we are morbidly curious about the way they taste! Plus, they're only $6.50 for a pack of six and would make a great gag gift at a White Elephant party. You can also find them at Walmart, but Amazon will give you the best deal at just $5.20.
What we are even more interested in, however, is the Kale Candy Canes. According to the site, these candy canes are made with kale flavoring and "taste just like the kale you love."
"All your Christmas dreams have come true! Kale Candy Canes are here! No more pesky holiday flavors to worry about, just the bitter grassiness of your favorite vegetable," the product description says. "Talk about a superfood, kale is not only very nutritious but also incredibly delicious. This set of six Kale Candy Canes gives you the flavor of kale with none of the dietary benefits. Plus, the package features personified kale. Kids love it!"
We think this would make a hilarious gift for the vegan or health nut in your life. And you can get a six-pack on sale right now for just $6.
