I'm gonna show you how to make a healthy pizza that's super easy too so you can skip takeout. I'm making a sausage pepper and mushroom pizza. First, you roll out or you stretch your dough on a lightly floured surface to about the size of the baking machine. Here I'm using whole wheat dough which has more fiber than regular white pizza dough and fiber helps with digestion. To keep this recipe super quick, I'm using store-bought dough which you can find refrigerated or in the freezer at most grocery stores. But if you planned ahead, make your own dough because that's super easy too. Now if your dough keeps shrinking back, just let it sit for a few minutes and then try and stretch it out again and it will work. Transfer your dough to the baking sheet and put it in a 450-degree oven on the lowest rack. Bake it for about 8 to 10 minutes until it's puffed and lightly crisp on the bottom. Now while the pizza crust is baking, we're gonna cook our toppings. So crumble turkey sausage into a medium non-stick skillet and cook that over medium heat. Break up any large pieces with the back of the spoon. Cook it for about three to five minutes until that's totally cooked through. Now at the same time, place bell peppers, mushrooms, a little bit of water in a large microwave-safe bowl. Cover it and microwave on high until it's just tender. It takes about three to four minutes. Drain those and we're ready to assemble our pizza. Spread sauce evenly over the crust. Top it with sausage, peppers and mushrooms and sprinkle with cheese. Now here to reduce the saturated fat, we're using shredded part skim mozzarella cheese. I put that in the oven, bake it until it's crispy and golden. It takes about 8 to 10 minutes and it's done.
