Healthy Snack Tips: Cereal Snack Mix

Hi, I'm Nicci, and I'm here with Jessie in the EatingWell Test Kitchen, and we're going to show you how to pack a really quick healthy snack that you can take anywhere you need to go. Okay, so we're going to make some cereal mix. We have about a quarter cup of Cheerios. Combine it with about a tablespoon of raisins, a tablespoon of pepitas. These are great, they're just pumpkin seeds. And then a tablespoon of semi-sweet chocolate chips. And this generous serving, this is one serving here, has 125 calories and it's packed with nutrition. It's got some fiber, some heart-healthy fats, some antioxidants, far more nutrition than you're going to find in any cereal snack mix that comes from a vending machine. And then I like to just package it up in a little plastic container, put the lid on and then I can take it with me: throw it in my purse, throw it in my gym bag. And it's ready when I'm hungry.
