Is the Impossible Burger Healthy?

Is the Impossible Burger Healthy? From Burger King to White Castle, Impossible Foods is sweeping the nation with their wildlypopular Impossible Burger. You can find this meaty, juicy—yet plant-based—burger in all kinds of dining establishments across the country. But what is the Impossible Burger anyway? The Impossible Burger is an all-plant burger meantto "deliver all the flavor, aroma and beefiness of meat from cows," says Impossible Foods. But is it healthy? A 4-ounce serving contains 240 calories, 19 grams protein, 14 g fat, no cholesterol whatsoever, 370 milligrams sodium and 25% of the Daily Value of iron. Some of the main ingredients include: soy and potato proteins, coconut oil, sunflower oil, heme, and methylcellulose. Heme is a nutrient that Impossible Foods has turned into an ingredient. Heme is what makes meat taste like meat. But instead of taking it from an animal's muscle, the plant-based version of heme is made from yeast fermentation. But while you're making a more environmentally-friendly choice with the Impossible burger, it’s best to enjoy this plant-based patty in moderation.
