Music, parties, lights, glitter, snow and, of course, the yummy food!

The one thing I don't always love is holiday shopping. It's hard to know what to get for the people on my list.

So this year, I polled my fellow EatingWell editors for their top gift picks for food lovers. Spread holiday cheer with any of these finds or give one to yourself (I won't tell).

http://www.eatingwell.com/blogs/food_blog/gift_ideas_for_food_lovers#comments Food Blog Lisa D'Agrosa Holidays Multimedia & Tools - Blogs Tue, 11 Nov 2014 20:15:34 +0000 suzie.qu_559209 284433 at http://www.eatingwell.com Beyond the Beef Taco http://www.eatingwell.com/blogs/food_blog/beyond_the_beef_taco

Some people have pasta night every week, but the one thing you’re guaranteed to find on my weekly menu is “Taco Night.”

This is a throwback to childhood, as we had crunchy tacos—the kind that came in a box complete with the seasoning packet to doctor up ground beef, taco sauce and shells—almost every week. They’re the ultimate budget-shopper’s protein (at less than 40 cents each), last longer than any cut of meat and can help you make the most of your miscellaneous fridge finds.

Wilting greens? Sauté them with some sliced onion and finely chopped garlic and they become the perfect meal when topped with a poached egg.

http://www.eatingwell.com/blogs/food_blog/need_an_easy_dinner_put_an_egg_on_it#comments Food Blog Breakfast Carolyn Malcoun Dinner Family meals Multimedia & Tools - Blogs Tue, 04 Nov 2014 15:59:55 +0000 suzie.qu_559209 284396 at http://www.eatingwell.com Why Turkey Sausage Is a Weeknight-Dinner Lifesaver http://www.eatingwell.com/blogs/food_blog/why_turkey_sausage_is_a_weeknight_dinner_lifesaver

I love sausage. More important, my 2-year-old daughter loves sausage, so if I can add it to something I’m cooking, there’s a good chance she’ll gobble it up. But we try to be mindful of what we eat, so I opt for turkey sausage.

Why? Nutritionally speaking, it’s a leaner choice than pork sausage, with roughly half the calories and only one-fifth the saturated fat per serving. In terms of flavor, I think they’re almost equal: like pork, turkey sausage spices up every dish it meets with a savory blast. So I always keep healthy links of turkey sausage in my freezer.

http://www.eatingwell.com/blogs/food_blog/why_turkey_sausage_is_a_weeknight_dinner_lifesaver#comments Food Blog Carolyn Malcoun Dinner Family meals Multimedia & Tools - Blogs Tue, 04 Nov 2014 14:41:54 +0000 suzie.qu_559209 284393 at http://www.eatingwell.com Fresh Ideas for Fall CSA Vegetables: Carrots, Kale and Beets http://www.eatingwell.com/blogs/food_blog/fresh_ideas_for_fall_csa_vegetables_carrots_kale_and_beets

I thought I had it good with my CSA midsummer, but the first weeks of September are truly a vegetable-lover’s gold mine.

Not only am I still getting perfect summer tomatoes, peppers and eggplant, but cooler-weather crops like beets and dark leafy greens are back in rotation too.
