Why does everyone want to add chills or other hot ingredients to everything? I generally think that they smother all of the subtle flavors of fresh ingredients. They sometimes are actually painful to eat. I like the flavor of jalapeños if they are used sparingly to reduce the heat. I friend of mine uses hot peppers of some kind on almost everything he eats, because (self-admittedly) he says everything tastes like nothing without them because of his smoking. I am tired of looking for a new recipe and finding mostly tongue searing choices.
