If it's a vinegar allergy, you can substitute white wine or Champagne. If it's a wine allergy, you could try rice vinegar, since it's very similar. Of course, be sure you don't react to it, first. You can also substitute, orange juice, lemon juice, lime juice, even grapefruit juice for vinegar in most recipes. (Note also, red wine or port can work well in place of balsamic vinegar, if the wine doesn't bother you.)
