Healthy Sardine Recipes (Slide 1)

They left out Fisherman's Eggs recipe. Saute some chopped onion in whatever oil/butter you like, After a two or three minutes, add 1/2 can of sardines (drained). Mash them with a fork. Saute for another two minutes or so. Crack two eggs and cover pan with a lid. I wait about minute and add about a tablespoon of water. Cook until the eggs yolks are still runny. Serve with plenty of hot sauce (Frank's or something similar). I love sardines this way!

I agree. This article does speak to how un-versatile sardines are. I cannot get sardines past my lips. I want to eat them because of their nutritional value. The only recipe that slightly appeals to me is the fettuccini. I thought of soaking them in a marinade that's acidic enough to kill the flavor. The texture bothers me too though. Ugh. Bones. I think I need psychotherapy before true acceptance of sardines in my diet.

I love sardines. When I was a kid, my mom made my dad eat them on the back porch because she didn't want the smell in the kitchen. He had a special fork that he had to use too. It was always a treat when dad opened a can of sardines and we'd share. My sister said it gave me cat breath!

I've been told I need lots of Omega 3 in my diet. Sardines are perfect. Except I hate the taste of fish in general and sardines are quite fishy. How do you cover the taste?

“Sustainability isn’t just about the oceans—it’s about sustainability for people. Anyone can jump in their SUV, drive to Walmart and buy a can of sardines. I love that! It needs to be accessible and easy.”

Is that supposed to be some sort of sick joke? What do SUVs and Walmart have to do with "sustainability"? Why were those particular words chosen? It sounds like an intentional mockery of anyone who actually cares about these things.
