Wonderful lunch ideas...not sure why people are complaining??? Take one of their ideas and modify it with the food your kid will eat...or take their idea and build upon it...I like the options posted & it has started my creativity with lunch ideas...stop making excuses& get creative...

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. They are both exposed to the same foods. One loves his carbs (mac and cheese, crackers, pancakes, fruit, fruit, fruit, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, etc.) and hates to try new foods. The other one eats salsa with her hands, likes to lick jalapenos, and loves dahl. They are individuals, and just like adults they have their own tastes. I am not about to judge another mom by the the preferences of her kids. I will, however, not try to feed my kids something that I wouldn't eat myself. Microwaved spinach and mozz on a tortilla? Come on, that's just gross.
Can we please stop judging other parents and assuming that they are not exposing their kids to healthy foods just because they won't eat a spinach roll up? Where's the compassion, people?

OMG do people actually think before they post?? REALLY! You have never heard of a thermal lunch box?? ICE packs?? They even have containers that can keep food WARM!! I have real kids too...they eat all this stuff and more! Parents who didn't know how to keep lunches cold or hot or that kids will try foods that they are exposed to often...are proof YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT...JUNK IN JUNK OUT!!

No school has a fridge, use a lunch bag and an ice pack.
What are you feeding your kids that they won't eat these foods? My 7 yo would eat the majority of these recipes. You need to expose them to the great variety of food that is available: if they see it on the table consistently, they'll try it eventually. Just by regularly getting sushi and letting my son eat the dumplings and never forcing him to eat the sushi, he once decided to try it, on his own, and now eats the tuna and avocado rolls--all of them so I hardly get any. The same with cauliflower, bell peppers, etc.
I know kids that eat very few items: PB&J, cheetos, milk, soda, mac and cheese, watermelon. You need to make a concerted and repetitive effort to expose the kids to different foods. For their own sakes.

As in many schools, my children don't have access to a refrigerator in which to to keep their lunchboxes. Many of these lunches would need to be refrigerated. How about either more ideas that don't need refrigeration, or a comment on how long it can be kept safely at room temperature?

I agree with the previous comment. I'm sure there are some kids out there that might enjoy these but I don't know of any schools besides a college where kids can reheat their food. These recipes are not kid friendly for my family.
