There is already plenty of natural sweetness in the fruit, why the hell would you suggest adding sugar?? You claim to be promoting healthy eating, but there are people looking at these recipes and thinking "Well they put sugar in the recipe so it must still be healthy." I'm terrified to look at your other recipes if this is how you ruin fruit smoothies.

I was looking for a quick treat using whatever I had on hand. I don't have buttermilk, but used the age-old substitution (milk, soy milk in my case, and a squeeze of a lemon = buttermilk). I didn't add the ice since this seemed to be perfect just the way it was. I enjoyed the tartness the cranberry juice gave the smoothie! Yum! I will make again.
