In this one-skillet supper, we toss dark leafy greens, diced tomatoes and white beans with gnocchi and top it all with gooey mozzarella. Serve with a mixed green salad with vinaigrette.

READER'S COMMENT:
"Skillet Gnocchi is now one of my favorite go-to meals. Easy and delicious. I do usually use spinach, as opposed to chard (my husband dislikes it). It's great either way. "

Delicious! low star ratings are from spammers

Made this tonight for the first time. I followed the recipe exactly as written (using spinach instead of chard), and It was delicious! Low ratings for this recipe are from spammers and people who didn't follow the recipe. I hate it when people don't follow a recipe as it is written, and then give it a low rating. This was fast, easy, and delicious!

No offense, but some folks

No offense, but some folks have different tastes. They may not be able to put to words exactly their experience, but some have legit complaints/concerns. One of the most common reviews is the recipe is bland. For people who are used to using a lot of spice and herbs in dishes this recipe would be bland and boring; there are no herbs or even salt used in the recipe. Salt livens flavor. Gnocci are potatoes and need salt or they are often bland, especially the crappy dried ones that need reconstituting. Peeps that don't agree with you aren't always idiots.

Skillet gnocchi w chard rocks

This is one of the best recipes ever! The favors really come together.

My edits include 1. More garlic, 2. Used Tuscan kale, 3. 2 pinches of cayenne, and 4. additional Italian seasoning

I adore Lacinato variety kale

I adore Lacinato variety kale (an Italian kale.) I grow it and store it to use in everything. I like the changes you made to the dish.. You can't go wrong with herbies. :)

Great Family Weeknight Meal

I've been using this recipe regularly for almost two years now and my whole family loves it. You have to use the amount of garlic and onion in the recipe to get maximum flavor. I use kale instead of spinach or chard because I like the way the kale holds up.

Easy, cheap, and tasty!

Bland

The gnocchi was flavorless. Next time I would add some marinara sauce, or season the diced tomatoes and let the gnocchi cook longer in the mixture so it would soak up some flavor. Also, I would decrease the amount of gnocchi. I also only used 1/4 of an onion, since a whole one seemed a bit much.
