This is clearly a recipe by a "non-Asian" - no offense intended, I am Caucasian but my wife is Chinese. Anyone who knows sesame oil, including world class chefs, will tell you that the oil needs to be used sparingly, otherwise it will overwhelm the entire dish. A full tablespoon is ridiculous, all you need is a few drops to no more than a half teaspoon. Adjust to this amount and you have a nice stir fry dish.
I have a hard time eating my vegetables and usually have to resort to hiding them from myself by combining with meat, cheese, etc. No need here. Ate 'em all by themselves! Thank you a hundred times! I'll be making this a lot.
I also added a bit of chili paste for a little heat.
I am in love with vegetables and I am always looking for new flavors and ways to get my family to eat them. This recipe was a sure win for my family, with the light salty flavor from the soy sauce, the sweet flavors from steamed vegetables, and the beautiful colors. I paired this with Teriyaki chicken and brown rice and this was just the perfect side. This family favorite will be used a lot!
