Sesame-Ginger Pork Patty with Grilled Pineapple

May/June 2011

Your rating: None Average: 3.6 (14 votes)

Ditch the bun and serve this Asian-inspired pork burger with sweet grilled pineapple on top of a zesty watercress-and-carrot salad. We like the taste and texture of fresh pineapple for this recipe, but canned pineapple rings work well too. Serve with short-grain brown rice.

It is Just Okay

As always, the grilled pineapple was fantastic. I loved the sauce. I didn't have watercress, so I made a regular tossed salad with romaine. I wasn't that crazy about the pork patty. It didn't have enough flavor for me. I probably won't make this again.

A great dish for the famiy

The surprise of the different flavors in every bite is what made this dish!!!!

Each family member loved this dish for a variety of reasons. We especially enjoyed the sweetness of the pineapple mixed with the different flavors from the spices and pork!!!

Calorie Count?

This is good, BUT the published calorie count per serving CAN NOT be correct!
Example (per serving):
Pork = 232
Pineapple = 14
Sesame oil = 20
Total so far = 266

Now lets's talk about the fat grams...9g??? Really...I believe it is 16.25g!
