The steak had no flavor at all. I think next time I'm going to marinade my steak how I usually do it and add the onions and cheese. The onions had such great flavor, and the blue cheese worked well with the steak and the onions. I just think there needs to be more flavor in the steak.
Seared Steaks with Caramelized Onions & Gorgonzola
From EatingWell: November/December 2008
In our humble opinion, steak is best topped with sweet caramelized onions and salty Gorgonzola cheese. We recommend seeking out good-quality Gorgonzola for the best flavor, but any will work. Serve with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed carrots.

Loved it! Didn't use brown sugar. I like to use the natural sugar of the onion to caramelize the onion. Steak was cooked perfectly to mid rare. Awesome!
I thought the onions were poorly flavored and the steaks overdone. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best way to go. Saute the onions in a tad bit of butter, add salt if needed and pepper, add mushrooms at the end and grill the filets!
This was a fantastic meal! Added mushrooms to the onions a couple minutes before adding the broth---great addition! Served w/ the suggested garlic mashed potatoes and steamed carrots. Excellent! The onions with the meat---wow!
