Prunes steeped in tea and lemon make a quick and healthy dessert. Try serving them over ricotta cheese or with Greek yogurt.


Prunes Steeped in Tea Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound unpitted prunes
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 3-inch-long strips lemon zest
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 jasmine or black currant tea bags

Preparation

  1. Place prunes, honey, lemon zest and juice in a medium saucepan. Add water and bring mixture to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat, add tea bags and let steep for 3 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the prunes stand for a few more minutes.
