The classic combination of pears, walnuts and blue cheese isn't just for salad. Toss the same ingredients onto purchased whole-wheat pizza dough and make your own gourmet flatbread at home. Any type of ripe, firm pear will work—red pears look great.

I did a review of this dish in my blog about cooking, "Eating the Rainbow". You can read it at http://superfoodsyear.blogspot.com/2010/04/rhapsodie-en-bleu.html

I made this last night for my wife. The contrast in taste of the blue cheese and pears was amazing.

Great recipe, easy-to-make. Great as an appetizer too!

Very tasty and filling. I couldn't find the right crust so I used a couple pieces of pita bread to make individual pizzas instead and it worked perfectly!

Made this for a friend tonight, and we both agreed that this is definitely a "keeper." Loved it, very easy to make and very tasty.

I agree, a great recipe. I did sub in Rosenborg Danish Blue Cheese http://rosenborgusa.com/product/rosenborg-traditional-danish-blue-cheese/

Tried both variations, liked Rosenborg more.
