Very finely chopping onion, mushrooms and carrots in the food processor is not only fast—it makes the vegetables hard to detect for picky eaters. They also form the base for the sauce of this ground beef skillet supper. Make it a meal: Serve with a green salad.

I thought that the dish was pretty good! Everyone in my home was telling me how good that it smelled. It definitely does need some extra spices. Next time that I make the dish I will add more flavor. Overall, a very simple and filling dish.

I used a couple of heaping Tablespoons of tomato paste and that added the flavor that I think people were missing. Also, I used fresh oregano which I had on hand and that added some flavor. I also threw in a large handful of spinach to the mix. My kids loved it and my husband had a second serving. This was a wonderful way to get great veggies into my kids. Very good.

Good...but not great... ....Like alot of other reviewers I found this dish bland. There are so many herbs and spices you can mix in to make it taste better.

The problem with that , is if you dont know your way around the kitchen you'll be stuck. Also, this is a GREAT recipe for kids or others who dont like veggies. But since my passion is cooking and I love variety.

I would make this again but I would mix it up to keep it interesting.

For those who thought this a bit bland: if you browned the ground beef with salt, pepper, onion and garlic and then added the other stuff, the flavor would probably be better. I find that seasoning ground beef after it browns makes for a bland dish.

Have you ever noticed just how many people there are out there that have no imagination and can't cook, either? I have. I've fixed this many times for many people and most of them will NOT eat mushrooms, but they love this when I fix it. One friend of mine will not touch broccoli, mushrooms, or zucchini. but he eats it when I fix this with those items in it, also. If you don't like something, then CHANGE it. Grow up and drop all the "Yuck" and "I'll never fix this again", or the "I don't LIKE that" garbage. GIVE ME A BREAK, PEOPLE!!!! I think this recipe is at the very least, a darned good starting point. Especially for a bunch of overage 3 year olds, from the way you sound.

Obviously, this recipe needs another review! I thought it was ok, but not outstanding. The texture of the minced veggies was a little strange, and oddly, I couldn't find whole wheat elbows so I used whole wheat rotini. I would absolutely make this again.

I hate to give bad reviews, but this wasn't very good. I usually like to try to fix a recipe, but not with this one. We added cheese at the end, but something was definitely missing. The recipe made a large pot and no one even touched the leftovers. Most of the family didn't even finish their bowl. The only thing I did different to the recipe was to add in white wine, but it didn't help. If anyone can figure out what seasoning is missing, I might be willing to try it again. I am a huge fan of this website and this is the first time I didn't like a recipe.

I hate mushrooms, onions and cooked carrots, but blending them up makes them downright tasty. I would suggest using less than the "one large onion" in the recipe - even my onion-loving guests thought it was overkill. But maybe my onion was gargantuan. Good eats!

It was pretty good. My husband and 2-year old daughter liked this dish. She usually does not eat onions and mushroom but she ate them. My husband had a second helping. I put some cheese on the top of the dish to add more flavor.
