I made this recipe tonight for the family and my husband and I thought it was very good. I wouldn't say it was bland at all. It has a nice mild mushroom and thyme flavor. I did add a little extra salt and pepper at the table. Also, while cooking the dish covered, it looked a lot like soup and I got a little nervous. So I took the cover off the pot for the last two minutes and let some liquid evaporate which really helped.
Definitely will make this again!


Made this for the family yesterday...the only thing I did different was to us ground turkey (that was what I had on hand). I did season it heavily because many people said they though it was bland....this was a hit in my house and was definately not bland. My Husband, 5 year old and 3 year old ate and enjoyed it. I loved that large amount of food this yeilded (enough for leftover night) and that it was so hearty. I have never eaten hamburger helper so I don't know how it compares but we liked it very much.


Just made this for dh and myself. I did not put the veg in a food processer. I diced them instead. So my cooking time was longer. Others said it was bland so I just added seasoning to taste. Oregano instead of thyme and added a splash of red wine. I think I added to much worchestershire but we still enjoyed it very much. I sprinkled a little cheese on top (because I can't help myself). Now I am off to try and not eat the other half of the pot! Oh I forgot..I didn't use the 2 cups water, I used all broth instead. Probably why mine was not bland.


I made this last night using the spices and veggies my family likes. It turned out great and much healthier than the boxed mix....I will never use the boxed, prepackaged stuff again since using this recipe.


Hamurger Buddy and I will not be buddies long. One helping each for my husband and I. The rest went down the disposal. Not to our liking.
