Cranberries add a particularly pleasing tartness and color to pears. Fresh ginger, lemon and vanilla brighten up the pears, while reduced-fat sour cream adds flavor to the biscuit-dough crust.

I mixed some apples with pears. I used 4 apples and 4 pears. Ginger added a great flavor to the dish. I loved it. If you are not a big fan of ginger flavor, this might not be for you. My husband cannot have cobbler without a scoop (or two) of ice cream, so I served it with some vanilla ice cream. Very good!

I served this for dessert at Christmas dinner. It was great in that people wanted a light dessert, but I also felt that the crust didn't have a lot of flavor. I served the cobbler with eggnog frozen yogurt.
