Based on a popular Chinese dish, these fun wraps also make appealing appetizers for entertaining. Make it a meal: Serve with chile-garlic sauce and rice vinegar for extra zip; toss diced mango and strawberries with lime juice for a quick dessert.

"I loved this recipe. I used fresh basil and chives from my garden. Delicious and very filling! "

Bland but YUMMY

Take every suggestion for spicing up the flavor. Next time, I'll use more hoisin, and will add a chili sauce. My husband is super excited to get the leftovers the next day for his sack lunch!

sloppy, not kid-friendly, grocery store scavenger hunt
Change it up for lunch!

Yum, yum, yum! I really loved this recipe! The filling was so flavorful, especially with a drizzle of sriracha for extra spice. They're a bit messy, so don't try to multitask over your paperwork! If you can dry the lettuce leaves without tearing them, that'll probably help too. Also, the hearts of lettuce and smaller leaves can be chopped and added to your next salad.

Just a tip

I am making this for dinner tonight so I will get back later with how they turned out, but I noticed some people could not find the five spice in the store. I looked in the spice section and was disappointed that I couldn't find it either, however when we were in the section with the Asian foods I found it there. For anyone who didn't find it try the Asian food section.

Seems easy to make
Easy and yummy meal

I did not include the rice or chicken stock so it wasn't as salty. Wonderful dinner or Appetizers

quick, healthy
Really Good!!

I have been looking for some healthier dinner recipes since I am trying to lose the last bit of baby weight that I put on while pregnant, and came across these. I am a picky eater and most "healthy" recipes make me gag. I figured these didn't sound too bad, so I tried it. I have to say....I will be continuing to make these even after the weight is gone...they were really good. I did use another Tbsp of hoisin sauce, and a red pepper, and I left out the ginger (I HATE ginger), and used cilantro on top. I was pleasantly surprised at the final result. My husband said they were better than PF Chang's lettuce wraps (I don't know about that, since they are my favorite, ever..., but these are still really good). The one thing that would have been good to add is a sauce to add while assembling your lettuce wraps, but I have seen some ideas in the comments, so I will try those next time.

easy to make, taste's great, healthy, not terribly expensive.
