The recipe for Swedish glogg ( real "warmer upper" on cold winter days) has always included cinnamon sticks AND whole cloves inserted into the sliced oranges, creating a great flavour to Christmas drink, but also filling the house with a wonderful Christmas aroma.

Why boil it? Why not simply put it all in the crockpot, heat it up and serve it right from the crockpot?

I love hot apple sider and I plan to try this recipe. But will boiling the mixture destroy any of the great medicinal properties?
