The flavors in this recipe hit the spot. I did use ground turkey meet with a dash of Worcestershire sauce and a little salt and pepper to begin the dish. I also added a small or 15 oz can of crushed organic fire roasted tomatoes instead of the chopped plum tomatoes. This will, indeed, be a "go to" big treat for us.

To make this recipie even more healthy, I use ground turkey instead of ground beef. I think it is extremely tasty and good for you too!
This was AMAZING!!!! I used more tomatoes than it called for and used 96% lean beef. I served it with whole wheat buns, however I ate mine over a baked potato. I cannot wait to make this again!!!
I should have read more of the reviews before I made this. I would definitely omit or lower the amount of vinegar. I was drinking white wine so maybe that added to the fact that all I tasted was vinegar? But I would make this again and leave out vinegar. Also, I used a can of diced tomatoes and thickened it with cornstarch and water. My hubby and two year old are eating it up.
I LOVE this recipie! To make it EVEN healthier, I substitute ground turkey for the ground beef. You'd never know the difference. Perfect for when my summer garden is overflowing with tomatos! And, I get to make great use of my vidalia chop wizzard!
