Curried Cashew Burgers

If you're looking for a veggie burger with a great "meaty" feel, these are the ones to try. The secret is toasted cashews, which give them amazing flavor as well as texture. The red lentils cook surprisingly fast, keeping the active time brief.

"We have no need to buy any more of those store bought vegetarian burgers after trying these! Absolutely fabulous! Next time we make them we're going to add black beans. Other than that - no changes. "

great taste, but mushy

These burgers fulfilled some of the criteria for what I have been searching for. They are tasty, and can be frozen, both big pluses. However, they use a lot of dishes to make, but I could deal with that if the texture was firmer. I will try adding an egg to see if that helps, or perhaps some oatmeal instead of the breadcrumbs. Definitely worth tweaking, though.

flavourful, freezable, nutritious
great flavor

Love the flavors of these burgers. I did these in the pan as the recipe called for, but even after a.good while, found them to be quite soft and mushy inside. I grilled a couple of them and had much better results. Might add some mushroom stems to this next time. Didn't use raita either...but it was awesome with some plain hummus spread on the bun.

yummy, flavorful, fun
on a flat bun with hummus

These are deliciously flavorful, satisfying and fun to make. Reminded me a bit of falafel, but, with lentils rather than chick peas. The non-vegetarian family members liked them, too! Will certainly be making these again. Yummy!!! So much better than processed frozen veggie burgers.

Finally Found What We Were Searching For

My fiance has long been on the hunt for a nutty, satisfying veggie burger. These totally fit the bill when I made them for his birthday! We put on some tzatziki sauce too, completely perfect.

Awesome burgers!

These burgers are awesome. My husband is not a big fan of vegetarian food but he LOVED these. Will definitely be making them again - they freeze great too.
