Red and green cabbage and bright orange carrots make a colorful, healthful combination. For an especially nutty flavor, use Savoy instead of regular green cabbage.

I made this a few months ago and it was well received. I used a bag of preshredded cabbage mix which left the dish with a very flat taste. It is definitely worth the trouble to buy whole cabbage and slice it thin to get fresh shreds. It will give the slaw a much better texture. Plan to make this again this weekend for a party. I only wish more of my family members liked cole slaw or I would make it more often!
