This is a healthier twist on a classic creamy turkey and wild rice soup that hails from Minnesota. Serve with a crisp romaine salad and whole-grain bread.

This is quite tasty! I used brown rice instead of wild rice and i pre cooked the rice before adding it since I don't use the instant stuff.

Either way it's a very nice dish. I think next time I make it, I'm gonna slap it in my baking dish after it's done. Put a whole wheat biscuit topping on it and slap it in the oven and turn it into a chicken pot pie. >:3

Made this recipe for the first time this past week. Followed recipe with the exception of using chicken instead of turkey, extra carrots, no sour cream, no parsley and no added salt (due to the salt in the rice seasoning pkg).

Prepared as directed using 5-min Uncle Ben's Long Grain then put it in my crockpot (on low) to save for dinner a couple hours later. Decided to add sour cream just before serving but found the soup had turned into a chicken and rice dish (not soupy) and it tasted really good already, so I skipped it.

5, 7, 11 year old kids liked it as much as my husband and I. Would definitely make again :)

I just finished serving this having used the Turkey broth I made from our TG Turkey. Didn't have all the veggies as I used then in the stock so I used a small can of corn(11 oz), small can of cut asparagus spears (10.5 oz) along with the fresh carrots & shallots. I also used the Uncle Bens quick cooking with just 2 teaspoons from the seasoning packet. Also used Whole Wheat flour and FF sour cream ( Naturally Yours, which is an excellent brand of FF) and did also need about 1 to 1-1/2 cups extra broth. This was outstanding and my daughter loved it. I could see also playing with the veggies more next time and maybe using green chilis to make it a more SouthWest style soup. I don't like mushrooms so those are out. Great base recipe.

This soup is so good. I had one something like it only it didnt have carrots in it. And I have eveything BUT the carrots so I may go ahead and make it and leave them out and add a different veggie?

This was really easy and good. I used the box of Uncle Ben's long grain & wild rice, incl the season pkg. The only adjust. was the broth, I ended up using more because the soup was so thick. I skipped the sour cream....don't need it. I will definitely will make this again.
