Healthy Breakfast Tips

Bake muffins on the weekend and enjoy the leftovers for healthy grab-and-go weekday breakfasts. Wrap leftover muffins individually in plastic wrap, place in a plastic storage container or ziplock bag and freeze for up to 1 month. To thaw, remove plastic wrap, wrap in a paper towel and microwave on Defrost for about 2 minutes.

Need some new filling ideas for your omelet? Why not try:

  • Steamed spinach and tomatoes tossed with extra-virgin olive oil and garlic
  • Cooked broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes (reconstituted) and shredded mozzarella
  • Mushrooms sautéed with rosemary and thyme
  • Sautéed apple slices, minced fresh sage and shredded Gruyère
  • Sautéed pear slices, sliced almonds and crumbled Stilton

Barbara Montanez, Commerce City, CO
Protein Shakes are really delicious and you can add your own twist to them. If you want more info, let me know.

I'm looking for a recipe for multigrain and nut pancakes.

Michelle Harvey, Newton Falls, OH
Quinoa has a lot of protein. You can boil it in some water, add some beets from a can, any herb U like, I use cilantro. Salt, Pepper, some lemon juice toss and enjoy! U can also add chickpeas (more protein) tomatoes, onions, carrots and corn. Any or all of the above.

When printing your recipes out, the text that is in color prints very dull so it is hard to read. Make all your text in black so it is bold and prints out in a bright format.

I work 10-hour days, not including the one-hour round-trip. I am up at 5:30 a.m. and have to leave my house by 7:00 a.m. on good weather days. I do not have time to cook breakfast, just barely time to open the refrigerator and grab something to go. Please help with some recommendations. Thank you.

Deborah, Las Vegas, NM
I hate eating breakfast BUT, I want to start changing my eating habits. I don't know how to start. All I have now is one cup of coffee and nothing till dinner. So my metabolism has suffered with my poor eating habits

Mayra McCown, Corona, CA
If you dont have nough time for breakfast try to pre-make you meals. Put a drink like slimfast in your car with a sandwich bag of your favorite cerals and put it in your car. When you wake up its already waiting ready in your ride!

Megan, Woodbridge, VA
My daughter doesn't like eating breakfast either, but she loves having a chocolate-banana smoothie every morning. 1 banana, some milk, a little cocoa or chocolate syrup and some protein powder whipped up with a stick blender is very quick and easy. It's healthy and holds her all morning until lunch.

Ellen, Oakton, VA
try making most of the smoothies

mike, psl, fl

Just a plain bagle with peanut butter on it is a great breakfast that is quick easy and yummy! Its good for a grab and go meal too!

Anonymous, Utica, MI
I don't have time to make breakfast either and also barely have time to open the fridge and pack food for my day at work. I do have a granola bar every morning while I drive to work. Fiber One or South Beach with protein. Then at work I keep a box of Reduced Fat Triscuit and have it with a stick of cheese that I bring from home. I may have a banana and low fat yogurt that I grabbed from home also. At work I fill up my reusable water bottle and make tea.

anonymous, hartford, ct
what i had for breakfast was some waffels with syrup and one egg with orange juice anh a chocolate muffin which was really good by the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gracie vazquez, Needville, TX
I add javanu protein creamer to my coffee when I don't have time, otherwise I have oatmeal, sometimes both.

James, NY, NY
I've never heard of Javanu protein creamer. Where do you get this creamer?

Charlotte, Schaumburg, IL
I love these but I'm unsure of how I should eat. Just the muffin? Or the muffin with an omelet? I get confused.

Nikki, Troublefield, PA
