The flavor of this "treat" was mediocre and it was a pain to scrape the apple out of the skin (which was too tough to chew easily). My husband did not like this recipe at all and stopped eating after the first bite. I recommend trying other desserts.
Cinnamon Baked Apples

Who can resist the aroma of baked apples wafting through the house? Top with nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt for a real treat.

If i peel the apples will i get better results?
In response to anonymous...I just read in Cooking Light Magazine that Granny Smiths are not good for this technique. I have had great luck with Rome apples but that article also recommended Honey Crisps.
I used Granny Smith apples and cooked them in a toaster oven. I checked after 45 minutes and found that the skins had split. We had something more aking to applesauce than baked apples. What might I have done wrong? If the problem was the toaster oven, maybe there should be a warning. I'm sure that there are many people who do not like to heat up their kitchens using an oven this time of year. (The taste was delicious.)
