This cake is stellar! My extended family devoured it, as did my boyfriend's family when I brought some over. I substituted applesauce and raisins for the dates, and didn't use cake-flour, but instead added some cornstarch, and it came out amazing! Watch that you don't overbake it though, because it can look deceiving.
