OK, but don't use the microwaved popcorn.

Please see recent reseach on PFOAs which are considered carcinogenic and especially should be avoided by children.

This is a sensible 'treat'

For years, we have been

For years, we have been spraying loose microwaved kernels popped in a m-w popper and using a food-safe manual hand sprayer bottle filled with olive oil. Parmasen cheese sticks better and you don't need expensive spray cans. Make sure to take the popped corn out, then try to pop the "widows" or else you will waste a lot of corn.

I spray with butter flavored

I spray with butter flavored Pam first, add Parmesean and spray again. Pampered Chef's Greek seasoning is good on it too. Rhonda in Okla. City

I have the same trouble. It seems as though you need your cheese to be almost in powder form for this to happen. No matter how many times I chop it in my food processor, it's never fine enough. I've tried spray olive oil to help it to adhere as well and I still have the same problem as you.
The taste however is really good.

Use fat-free organic olive oil cooking spray, just a spritz or two, to make the toppings stick better to the air popped popcorn. I use Pam, but use your favorite brand. It's hard to get any toppings to stick to the air popped popcorn, they usually end up at the bottom of the bowl.
