I made it for breakfast but used pineapple and graham cracker crumbs and would recomend flavored yogurt for a nonsour taste

If you're watching your sodium, use the yogurt instead of cottage cheese. Plain nonfat Greek yogurt has as much protein as cottage cheese, but very little sodium.
Also, use any fresh fruit. This is great with berries, sliced banana, peaches, nectarines, and even thawed no-sugar frozen fruits.
If you want a little crunch, instead of the wheat germ, use a crunchy cereal like Grape Nuts. Just a tablespoon is plenty.
I feel like this is totally something I would make and recommend to clients.
Not realistic for kids' breakfasts. Maybe yogurt instead of cottage cheese.
