Blackberry Sauce

Serve this vibrant sauce with lemon mousse, angel food cake.or sliced peaches.


Blackberry Sauce Recipe

1 cup

Active Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour (including cooling time)

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries, (one 16-ounce package)
  • 1/4 cup sugar, or
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Preparation

  1. Bring blackberries, sugar (or Splenda) and water to a simmer in a medium saucepan, stirring occasionally. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Strain through a fine sieve into a bowl. Stir in lemon juice. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
