Apple, Sauerkraut & Cheddar Quesadillas

This combination may seem unusual—until you try it. The sweet-tartness of the apple, creaminess of the cheese and bite of the sauerkraut work together beautifully in this easy hot sandwich. Serve with oven-roasted potatoes or a green salad.

Quick and easy

If you are going to use the apples, slice them very thin.

Easy, quick, filling and low cal
Unique and Delicious

I used Dill Havarti cheese and organic corn tortillas prepared on a cast iron skillet. Great flavor and texture!

Lacking something

I made this tonight and was expecting a great burst of flavours and it just fell flat. I'm sure that for non-vegetarians added bacon would add that extra flavour to it but for me, it just wasn't that great. I felt like it could've used a bit of kick and I've had apple and cheese combinations and apple and sauerkraut. It was OK but not something I will make again.

Quick and very easy
Strange combination but suprisingly works!

I thought this recipe was a little strange, but it really does work. I was very surprised to taste how well the combination of ingredients work together. Saurkraut does go with cheddar cheese. I make this like a panini in our indoor grill, and serve with sweet potato fries and my husband gets a link of smoked sausage. It really all works together very well, and it is a quick fix for dinner.

A little too good

I made this with Ezekial sprouted grain tortillas, which have 5 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein. I loved it. Unfortunately, I loved it so much I ate the whole recipe by myself in one sitting. I wouldn't recommend that- its alot of cheese.
