  • Coat a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Stir together the apples, pears, water, maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW until the apples and pears are very tender, about 6 hours. Stir in the lemon juice. Process the mixture using an immersion blender until the desired consistency. (Or transfer the mixture to a blender; remove the center piece of the blender lid to allow steam to escape, and secure the lid on the blender.
