Inspired by the classic pressed Cuban sandwich, we've taken the pickle-meets-cold-cuts-and-Swiss-cheese combo and rolled it in pizza dough for a fun party snack that's easy to make.

  • 5 ounces whole-wheat pizza dough
  • 4 thin slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 slices salami
  • 3 slices deli ham
  • 3 slices deli turkey
  • 1 kosher pickle spear, quartered lengthwise
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Yellow mustard for serving

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12-by-6-inch rectangle. Layer on Swiss, salami, ham, turkey and pickle. Roll up, starting at a long edge, into a tight roll, pinching the seams together. Place on a baking sheet. Cut a few slits on top. Whisk egg yolk and water in a small bowl and brush over the top. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.
  3. Bake until golden, about 15 minutes. Slice and serve with mustard, if desired.

I also used the canned pizza crust but only 2/3 of the dough. Wonderful and easy recipe except there weren't and left overs for my lunch!

Great sandwiche, quick and easy. I did make following changes: substituted canned pizza crust which comes out of can 6x12" so no rolling required. Also substituted hamburger dill slices for dill spears.
