Serve this delicious gremolata with grilled meat or fish, or jack up the flavor of your vegetable side dish by tossing it in with freshly steamed crisp-tender vegetables. This nutty condiment offers a triple dose of citrus—orange, lemon, and lime—that will make whatever dish it's served with really stand out.

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped toasted hazelnuts (see Tip)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley
  • 1½ teaspoons finely shredded orange peel
  • 1 teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel
  • ½ teaspoon finely shredded lime peel
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped

  1. Stir together hazelnuts, parsley, orange peel, lemon peel, lime peel, garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil, and shallot in a small bowl.
  2. Serve with meat or vegetable dish of choice.
  • Tip: To toast whole nuts or large pieces, spread in a shallow baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake in a 350°F oven for 5 to 10 minutes or until golden, shaking pan once or twice.
