  • Heat oil in a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-low. Add chopped onion; cook, covered, for 13 to 15 minutes or until the onion is tender, stirring occasionally. Uncover; cook and stir over medium-high for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove the onion from skillet. Cook turkey, bell pepper, and garlic in the same skillet over medium until the turkey is no longer pink. Drain off any fat.

  • Add the cooked onion, Cheddar, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard to the turkey mixture. Cook and stir over medium-low just until the cheese is melted.

  • If desired, line buns with lettuce and sliced red onion. Spoon the turkey mixture onto the buns. If desired, serve with sliced red onion, lettuce, and/or jalapeño pepper slices.


Tip: Chile peppers contain oils that can irritate your skin and eyes. Wear plastic or rubber gloves when working with them.
