This non-alcoholic cocktail is a refreshing blend of fresh strawberries, ginger ale and lime juice drink. It gets added flavor and a bit of zing from basil and ginger slices.

  • 4 cups halved strawberries
  • 6 cups diet ginger ale
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • Crushed ice
  • ½ cup loosely packed small fresh basil leaves
  • 8 thin slices fresh ginger

  1. In a blender or food processor combine strawberries, ½ cup of the ginger ale and the lime juice. Cover and blend or process until smooth. Strain if desired.
  2. Transfer strawberry mixture to a large pitcher. Slowly pour in the remaining ginger ale; stir gently. Fill eight glasses with crushed ice; divide basil and ginger among glasses. Pour in strawberry mixture.
  • Variation: To make alcoholic: Add 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) vodka or light rum to each serving.
